Societas Rosicruciana In Anglia
Founded in 1867, the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia is the world’s oldest independent society of Rosicrucian Freemasons. Open to suitably qualified Master Masons, the Society offers a deeper path of philosophical, spiritual and intellectual study, drawing upon Rosicrucianism, Hermetic philosophy, the Kabbalah, symbolism and the wisdom of the ancient world.
Its system is arranged through nine grades in three Orders, each using ceremony, symbolism and study to encourage the individual Frater toward greater understanding. Members are also encouraged to research, present papers and engage in discussion across subjects ranging from philosophy and mysticism to science, history and esotericism.
At its heart, the SRIA is about the pursuit of Light through study, fellowship and contemplation — providing a home for Freemasons who want to look beyond the surface of the Craft and explore some of the deeper questions behind it.
Admission requires, among other criteria, that a candidate be a Master Mason in good standing within a recognised regular jurisdiction and profess the fundamental principles of the Trinitarian Christian faith.
