Dan Painter

Master Mason, podcast host, proud family man, and humble human to a herd of cats and one highly suspicious dog named Dexter. When he’s not juggling ritual or dad duties, Bro. Dan dives headfirst into the philosophical heart of Freemasonry. A lover of symbols, allegories, and life’s mysteries, he brings warmth, curiosity, and a dash of mischief to The Masonic Mic. Expect deep thoughts, light banter, and the occasional meow in the background.

Reuben Fisher

Master Mason, conversational wild card, and pun enthusiast of the highest degree. Bro. Reuben Fisher shares Dan’s love for the philosophical depths of Freemasonry. Still, he adds his own flavour, usually with a side of clever wordplay and a knack for steering discussions gloriously off course. A devoted father and husband, Reuben is passionate about seeing the Craft thrive and evolve. He's also a “well-travelled” man, both in the traditional sense and the Masonic one (wink). If Dan is the compass, Reuben’s the square… but slightly tilted.

Skullicles

Conspiracy connoisseur, eternal skeptic, and The Masonic Mic’s bony ambassador. Skullicles is everything your internet rabbit hole warned you about, headphones on and mic ready, eyes forever widened in the thrill of “just asking questions…” From lizard people in aprons to secret handshakes controlling global finance (spoiler: they don’t), Skullicles dives skull-first into the myths, misconceptions, and glorious nonsense surrounding Freemasonry. Equal parts comic relief and truth-seeker, he’s our way of laughing at the lore while shedding light on the Craft.

Arvind Masilamani

Worshipful Brother Arvind Maslamani was first introduced to Freemasonry as a child in Chennai, India, watching his father prepare for Lodge. After moving to New Zealand in the mid-1980s to pursue opportunities in technology and engineering, he joined Sumner Lodge in the early 1990s with encouragement from his father and a close friend. Growing up in multicultural India taught him tolerance and acceptance—values he sees mirrored in the Craft across cultures. Now serving as Grand Steward in the Grand Lodge of New Zealand and a member of the Canterbury Masonic Charitable Trust, Arvind is dedicated to strengthening Freemasonry’s role in the community. He is candid about the challenges of declining membership and believes the Craft must adapt to modern times while holding true to its core values, with purpose and service at the heart of engaging future generations.
